North-Kivu : Patrick Munyomo against the insecurity in Goma

In a letter addressed to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in the DRC, the elected National Deputy of the city of Goma announced that he wanted to launch a campaign to collect weapons and ammunition scattered among the population of the city of Goma Goma in North Kivu, in exchange for a sum of money with everyone who brings back a weapon.

In his correspondence, Deputy Munyomo indicates that this campaign is part of the desire to contribute to the search for peace and security in the province of North Kivu.

According to him, this campaign will be carried out during his parliamentary vacation which will run from June to September 2020, and this, on the equity of his foundation and his emoluments.

Thus, this elected representative of the people requests in his correspondence, the accompaniment of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior so that the latter instructs the Governor of North Kivu to join this action which according to him, will « significantly reduce thefts with armed hands, the Kidnappings and the circulation of weapons in the city of Goma ”.

During the closure operations and curfew organized in the town of Goma last week by the army, several weapons and military effects were found in certain districts of the town of Goma among the population.

Groups of armed men known as « 40 thieves operate at night and spread terror among the population in different corners of the tourist town ».
